Snapping Africa

This is just to get to know my new camera a Nikon D90. I am endeavouring to challenge myself in adding one photo daily for the rest of the year. I do live in an interesting part of Africa, Tete, Mozambique where lots is going on and happening. Enjoy

18th Jan 11 - derelict - the meaning in the dicitonary......deserted, abandoned, run-down, dilapidated - neglectful of duty or obligation. Africa, is much like this. A little of the past remained standing, but most is crumbling, beyond repair!

Now I am back in a slightly more "civilized" country....... far away from the wide open spaces and exciting daily adventures, but I can hope I can continue to show you the beauty from this very populated little Island, Mauritius, just a speck in the Indian Ocean....

  • BOROMA CHURCH MISSION - This magnificent Jesuit Church, in a rather crumbling state, was built at the end of the 19th century and I think, it's by far Tete's most interesting feature. Being only 30km's from the city, it's a place I often visit and snap away.....
  • the Tete bridge, spanning the Zambezi............this crossing used to b dreaded a few months ago........we used to drive up to this bridge with knots in our stomachs, wondering how long we would queue to get across. It could have been anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours..........thank goodness the repairs are now done :)
