Snapping Africa

This is just to get to know my new camera a Nikon D90. I am endeavouring to challenge myself in adding one photo daily for the rest of the year. I do live in an interesting part of Africa, Tete, Mozambique where lots is going on and happening. Enjoy

May your weekend be filled with more hellos than goodbyes, more sweet than bitter, and more celebration than grief. (Emily, chatting at the sky)

I have been away from the camera and internet for a few days, so have nothing to share with you all apart from an "oil on canvas" I completed a few days ago. This is a commission for a special friend, who has the "colours of Africa" running through her veins......

About Me

My photo

Now I am back in a slightly more "civilized" country....... far away from the wide open spaces and exciting daily adventures, but I can hope I can continue to show you the beauty from this very populated little Island, Mauritius, just a speck in the Indian Ocean....

  • just adore the different colours of the baobabs. When I paint an orange or shocking pink baobab, I am not really using my "artistic licence" they are definitley not all grey!!
  • busy learning about the different uses of my amazing camera.....all the fancy words, like aperture, f stops, exposure, how to learn to adjust shutter speeds, maximum and minimum depth of field..etc.....will get there eventually. This is the bark of an African stat-chesnut tree, and found the colours amazing. My homework as u can see was using manual exposure and doing close ups......
  • memories of a great weekend.................
