a typical village scene that we pass on the way to the Zambezi........... The guinea fowl seem hardier than chickens and seem quite prolific here in Tete. You have to be "tough" to survive these hard conditions!!

this old cart, still being used today, belongs to an old chief of an area close to the Zambezi. Just love the ingenuity of it, like it belongs to the "Flintstones"......... Happy "creative" wednesday to one and all........

yip, its just the gate of the old Tete cemetery , but I find old walls and dappled sunlight quite fascinating.....Happy Tuesday everyone......

I love this old "pump house" built on the banks of the Zambezi in Tete city. The Brandt Travel guide has this to say about it " It has been suggested that it was a bar built and frequented by the Portugese to drink sundowners at the end of a long, hot and dusty day, but the inside is dominated by a huge water pump and pipes so it appears it's actually part of the town's water system."

Part of the workshops of Boroma Mission, built on the banks of the Zambezi by Jesuits at the end of the 19th century. Love this, has a feel of having gone back in time........

Amazing how with just a click of a mouse, I can bring a little more vibrancy and colour to this otherwise quite drab Tete market scene......As we go out to conquer the world today, may we to bring a little more colour into our situations.......

after a very traumatic night with 10 armed thieves causing mayhem, panic and fear...., felt I had to look thru my recent pics and find a gorgeous one..... just to remind myself that there still incredible beauty here!! . God was so good in protecting us all.........
