just another typical dry, hot, dusty day in Tete, Mozambique

can't get enough of these Ilala palms, paint them, photograph them....... I wonder if these were left by caravans passing thru many moons ago.......They are just in a large clump close to the Zambezi a few kilometres from our home.....

the ducks love to sit with us every morning during coffee time......and think this wooden duck is a relative, too cute...... eeeeeish my bookshelf is dusty, my camera is too good :)

one of the biggest joys of living in Tete is being on the Zambezi river and fishing......and when u get a tiger like this, you just want to keep going back for more. A great Sunday spent with lovely friends, Patrick and Diddy. Well done for the great catch Diddy :)

driving back from Chimoio yesterday we experienced the most incredible sunset........am quite impressed with my camera, this was taken through the vehicle window and going about 80km p/ h......

morning has broken............when I wake up to mornings like this, I know the weather will change.......it's usually going to get cooler, and for that I'm "hugely" grateful :)

the Tete bridge, spanning the Zambezi............this crossing used to b dreaded a few months ago........we used to drive up to this bridge with knots in our stomachs, wondering how long we would queue to get across. It could have been anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours..........thank goodness the repairs are now done :)

Happy Mothers day to all mothers everywhere........Mine is an absolute treasure, what a blessing she is in all our lives :)

busy learning about the different uses of my amazing camera.....all the fancy words, like aperture, f stops, exposure, how to learn to adjust shutter speeds, maximum and minimum depth of field..etc.....will get there eventually. This is the bark of an African stat-chesnut tree, and found the colours amazing. My homework as u can see was using manual exposure and doing close ups......

took my 2 little ducks (now identified as whistlers) to visit with their friends next door ....I tied blue ribbon around their necks to identify them - well....after much ducking and diving and having tremendous fun - alas - the ribbons were lost!! The result........decided to leave them with their friends, will go and visit them often :)

the province of Baobabs and anthills........... this was during the rains, its all turning golden now, and not much leaves on the baobabs :(

my gorgeous little ducks are very well........still not to sure what they are?? They have such distinct characters........one loves to be handled but the other runs in the opposite direction. This is obviously the friendly one :)

.........she sells sugarbeans in the hot Tete sun, but still has the energy and humour in finding me awfully funny :)
