these (shrubs?) trees really stand out in the bush around here. Thought the "red" was flowers but then discovered it was actually the seed pods. Just love the colours.........

took a looooong trip to Mucumbura (on the border of Mozambique and Zimbabwe) yesterday. It was a long, drawn out trip, with lots of waiting around for officials to do their business, which is so typical in Africa. But amazingly, as always, found plenty of beauty to share with you.........

 the chairs they make in this area are so different from the ones close to Tete.

mmm, a storm brewing as we left, which had us praying the whole way.  The road was horrendous.  Felt  a bit like a roller coaster ride on the way home ..........

what a wonderful surprise, our gorgeous Nathan and his Mom..... came to visit us in Tete, Mozambique......Here he is, eyeing out the city on the banks of the Zambezi.......

this photograph reminds me of the art we used to do as kids, so many moons ago.......Folding a piece of paper in half, then putting blobs of different coloured paint on one side, folded it over, squished down on it a little, opened it up...and voila, perfect sysmetrical, abstract art.......... :)

This is what Tete, Moz is all about right now...... Eqstra Blasters take off the last layers of Sandstone Shale and Mudstone to reach Top of Coal on Rio Tinto. Benga Mine . Coal extract will amount to 5 million Tonnes a Year in the next few years. These amazing "blast" pics were taken by a friend, Craig Vandeleur.......

had an amazing walk down this river on a friends farm and found some quite extraordinary things.......the rocks are an amazing pink and black, with such definite "strips" and found these old "grinding wheels", wish they could talk.........

always enjoy getting out of Tete city and into the "bush".........

I adore Baobabs anytime of the year...............but arn't they just gorgeous right now...... :)

these 2 white-faced ducks that have been with us for over a year now, are getting awfully territorial. Noone is allowed past "their space" including me (their Mother!!) Here they stand guarding the back door!
